Neuropeptides

The neuropeptides in this index are compounds marketed for cognition, mood, stress, and sleep — the claims that are hardest to measure and easiest to assert. Both members reached the July 2026 advisory committee, and the committee split them.

That split is the most useful thing this class has to teach. Two compounds of similar market position and similar regulatory history went before the same panel on the same days; one was recommended for listing and one was refused, and the difference was the state of each dossier rather than the category either belonged to.

Molecules in this class

Semax PCAC-recommended · pending
Removed from Category 2 in April 2026; PCAC voted 8–5 to recommend 503A listing in July 2026; no FDA final rule.
DSIP No lawful route
Removed from Category 2 in April 2026; the only peptide PCAC voted AGAINST (6–7) at the July 2026 meeting; no lawful route.

The recommended member's record is at Semax and the refused one at DSIP; the committee's only rejection sets out what the panel was reading, and the vote ledger carries every tally from the meeting.
