The Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee is the FDA advisory body that reviews nominated bulk substances and votes on whether to recommend adding each to the section 503A list. It met on July 23 and 24, 2026, reviewed seven peptides, recommended six, and rejected one.
A committee recommendation is advice. It changes no pharmacy's authority on the day it is cast, the agency is not obliged to take it, and rulemaking must finish before a recommended substance may lawfully be compounded. The committee's July 2026 votes also ran against the recommendations of the FDA's own review staff, which is a fact about the meeting rather than a prediction about the outcome.
